The dermatology unit where 3 dermatologist and venereal diseases specialist, 1 nurse and 1 floor secretary work; It consists of 3 doctor examination rooms and an intervention room.

The procedures performed in the dermatology unit are as follows:

Considering the indication of the specialist doctor and the preference of the patient, electrocautery (heat burning), cryotherapy (freezing with aircraft gas), total extirpation of molloscum contagiosum, dressings, IV and IM injections, direct microscopic examinations, allergy patch test application, skin biopsy , dermoscopic examination and cosmetic consultancy services are provided.

Allergy patch test: It is the application and evaluation of the European standard series allergens in the form of a patch on the back skin for the detection of the causative agent in contact eczema.

Skin biopsy: In order to perform a pathological examination, a piece is taken from the diseased skin area with the "excisional biopsy" technique and delivered to the patient in formol and directed to the pathology laboratory. The pathology reports are evaluated by the specialist physician.

Pathergy test: For the detection of skin hyperirritability, which is one of the major criteria of Behçet's Disease, the pathergy test is applied by a dermatology nurse and evaluated by a specialist physician.

Intralesional injection: Intralesional cortisone injections are performed by specialist physicians in necessary indications.

Wood's lamp: It is used in the diagnosis of some fungal and bacterial diseases, and pigmentation disorders in the skin.

Direct microscopic examination: Scraping material taken from the relevant skin, hair, and nail area is examined with a microscope to detect fungus and lice.

Dermoscopy: The risk of malignancy is evaluated by performing ABCD scoring of moles with a hand dermoscopy by a specialist and it is used in the diagnosis of some diseases.
