PATIENT REGISTRATION

The Patient Registration and Reception Unit, with two employees, is the unit within the Health and Guidance Center that handles the initial application and referrals to relevant departments for METU academic and administrative staff, students, SSK employees, and retired personnel.

The Center operates on a numbering system. Patients are assigned a number based on their desired procedure and are then directed to the designated counter. Calling patients in sequence according to their arrival time is crucial for minimizing long waits and ensuring priority access to the doctor. One of the most important tasks is directing patients to the doctor. The patient's complaint is listened to with interest, and the patient's file, currently in the hospital automation program, is sent to the doctor's computer. Certain methods are employed during this referral process: identifying the complaint, ensuring proper communication with the patient, approaching the patient with care and concern, and, most importantly, being patient.

After the examination, the patient re-applies to the Center for Guidance and finalization of the procedures.

Student reports are sent to the relevant departments. All these records are recorded on a computer.

In the appointment system implemented for faculty, appointments are handled by the HKK. The patient is informed of the appointment time, date, and other information (postponement or advancement). At the end of each day, the number of doctors/patients is recorded on the computer and in a folder.
